St Michael's Middle School

Videos and Performances

Please help all the children at St Michael's Middle School to help raise money for the charity Routes to Roots by sharing our song and visiting our Just Giving Page. A Christmas song titled ‘Absence’ has been composed by St Michael’s Middle School Head of Music, Ed Johnston, themed around the differences and difficulties we face in the light of the pandemic this year. The song has been rehearsed in COVID safe class groups over the past few weeks. More than 600 pupils have learned the melody and lyrics as part of their music lessons. Pupil’s instrumental skills are showcased with contributions from the School Orchestra, Ukulele Group and the sound of festive bells from the Handbell Group. Staff have also joined together in a socially distanced choir to add to the childrens’ vocals. As COVID restrictions mean that the performance cannot be live, the song will be recorded and shared with friends, families and the wider community. Roots To Roots are a local charity based in Poole and help homeless people. Thank you for watching and any donations you can make.
