March 8th Onwards - Remote Learning information should pupils need to self isolate.
Remote learning will be provided for your child whenever they are isolating because
they are awaiting a covid test result
someone in the house is awaiting a covid test result
they have a confirmed COVID diagnosis (10 days isolation)
someone in your household has a confirmed COVID diagnosis (10 days isolation) or
your child has been sent home to isolate due to a case in their school bubble (10 days isolation)
PUPILS MUST BE LOGGED IN TO THEIR SCHOOL GOOGLE ACCOUNT TO USE THE LINKS TO THE WORK.
IN ALL CASES
On their first day of isolation, pupils should follow the links on the right of this page to access the work appropriate for their year group.
Work is organised by subject and there is sufficient to cover 2 weeks of lessons. Start with Isolation Work 1. The work is designed to underpin key ideas taught in school this year. Pupils can also continue reading their book, quizzing on Accelerated Reader, Hegarty Maths and Tassomai (Yr7 & 8 Maths, English and Science only).
IF A TEST COMES BACK POSITIVE AND PUPIL NEEDS TO ISOLATE FOR 10 DAYS, continue to work through the online resources for the year group they are in, located on the right of this page. Teachers will, where relevant, update the work to take account of what is happening in class at that time and will check on the work done.
IF A TEST COMES BACK NEGATIVE AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS and the pupil can return to school, STOP doing the online work and make a note of which lessons they completed. They may have to pick up from there if they are required to isolate again.
IF A PUPIL HAS SUBSEQUENT PERIODS OF ISOLATION DUE TO ONE OF THE SITUATIONS ABOVE
Continue from where they left after the previous isolation
If they isolated for 10 days and completed Isolation work 1, move on to Isolation Work 2 then 3 in order as required.
If your child requires additional work, use the link on the right 'Additional Home Learning Resources', for suggestions of things they could do. They should also have a reading book, linked to our Accelerated Reader scheme, which they can continue with. When they finish a book they can do the associated quiz by following this link and logging in to their account as they do at school. https://ukhosted9.renlearn.co.uk/2236750/
WHAT SUPPORT WILL SCHOOL PROVIDE IF MY CHILD IS ISOLATING
If your child is required to isolate for 10 days, teachers will check on the work being done and where appropriate provide other materials linked to the lessons being taught in school at that particular time. Someone from the school will also call to check how they are getting on with the work.
LIVE AND PRE-RECORDED LESSONS
These will be provided in the event of a year group(s) or class bubble being required to isolate or the school closed in a national lockdown. We will contact you with details if this situation occurs. Some of the work set for individual isolations may include pre-recorded videos from resources such as Oak National Academy.
If appropriate and possible, a teacher may contact an isolating pupil via google classroom and invite them to join their in-school lesson remotely via google meet.
