Dorset School Games
A successful year of sport at St Michael’s came to a finale at the Dorset School Games held at Bryanston School on 20th June.
No fewer than 7 of our sports teams in cricket, athletics and indoor rowing qualified through winning their preliminary tournaments. This is in addition to 3 more teams who competed in the Winter School Games earlier this year.
Our congratulations go to the following teams:
Yr 7 Boys Indoor Rowing – 2nd Place
Yr 7/8 Girls Cricket – 3rd Place
Yr 6 Boys/Girls Athletics – 3rd Place
This is a remarkable achievement given that the best teams in Dorset were all competing in their respective events.
The pupils had a fantastic day competing and showing the School Games values of determination, self-belief, passion, teamwork, respect and honesty and joined in the ‘party atmosphere’ created by St Michael’s African Drumming Band led by Mr Johnstone at the opening ceremony.
