Choir performs with Armonico Consort
A selection of pupils from our choir joined pupils from Allenbourn Middle School and the Wimborne Minster Choir to participate in a concert performed by the prestigious Armonico Consort Choir. The event was held in the beautiful surroundings of Wimborne Minster and was part of the events organised to celebrate Wimborne as the town of culture 2026.
The concert was directed by a renowned director called Christopher Monks. Armonico Consort is a critically acclaimed choir, instrumental ensemble and music charity. As part of its charitable work, it provides free training in singing and the chance to perform with the choir. The majority of the concert was songs taken from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The finale was the Wimborne premiere of a new piece of music called Lamentations and written by composer David Buckley (who also composes music for Hollywood films including Shrek 4 and Jason Bourne). The audience commented on the behaviour and effort of the pupils, and we really enjoyed having the chance to perform as a combined choir in the magnificent setting of Wimborne Minster.
