Remembrance Events

Pupils at St. Michael's Middle School joined people across the country in helping remember those who gave their lives for our freedom in the World Wars and other more recent conflicts.

A number of our pupils and staff came to St. Michael's Church for Remembrance Sunday. They joined representatives from the church, emergency services and local scout and guide groups in a parade from the church to the local war memorial. Pupils carried two giant poppies, each containing a smaller poppy made by each member of the school community, and presented them at the memorial.

On the 11th November, pupils who are part uniformed organisations came to school in their uniforms as a mark of respect. The whole school came together on the playground at 11am and held a 2-minute silence together. The pupils gathered together at the war memorial later in the day on behalf of the school community to pay their respects.
