St. Michael's U13 Girls Football Team Win the EFSA National Small School Cup!

We are proud to announce that our Year 7/8 Girls Football team have won the English Schools' FA National Small School Cup competition with a 3-1 win over Repton Preparatory School in the final.
The final was held at The Hawthorns Stadium (home of West Bromwich Albion Football Club) and we were joined by a small (but vocal) group of supporters who travelled to Birmingham especially to see the match. Congratulations to the girls who have given the school their first victory in a national level football final. All participants received a gold medal and the school has the trophy to display for the coming year. The whole school watched the match live on YouTube, along with several local first schools. Particular congratulations to Ava Sanderson, scorer of all three goals, who won the Player of the Match award and finished as the competition's top goalscorer. Congratulations also to Mr Wallis, Mr Manley and all the staff who have been involved with this team over the season.
